I squirreled myself away in my daughter’s room while she was at school to read the book aloud to my cat. I’ve done plenty of story times, but only to my daughters or nieces or nephew. Sunday will be the first time I get to read any kind of book to kids not directly related to me. I have a few surprises and treats in store for everyone who comes.
Now excuse me while I go through the book again. Maybe this time, the cat will be awake.
It’s just 7 days until my first picture book, The Dandelion’s Tale, is released. I’m kicking everything off with a story time reading in Brooklyn at Powerhouse on 8th on Sunday, March 16th at 11:30am. I haven’t been to Brooklyn in a loooong time. This is the perfect reason to make my return.
I’ll be reading the book along with my dandelions, aka my teenage daughters. The book was written for them when they were toddlers and I can’t think of a better way to do story time than with the most special girls in my life. We’re practicing every night and trying to awaken our inner actors. It’s been fun. Kind of like putting on a little play.
We’ll have crafts for the kids that attend and promise to have a lot of fun. Hope to see you all there!
